白坂量水堰の上は橋になっているため職員が観測のたびに渡るのですが、最近動物のフンが見つかるようになりました。

静岡県湖西市にある海岸林の74林班で、マツ枯れ被害調査を行いました。
We conducted a pine wilt damage survey at compartment 74 in the coastal forest in Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

マツノザイセンチュウによって引き起こされるマツ材線虫病で枯れてしまったマツを探して歩きます。
枯死したマツは葉が褐色に変色しています。
Walk in search of pine trees that have died due to pine wilt disease caused by pine wood nematodes (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus).
The leaves of dead pine have turned brown.

昨年から今年にかけて、74林班ではマツ材線虫病による被害木が増えています。
年明け早々には、病虫害を専門とする教員、他演の技術職員の力を借りて、マツ枯れ予防薬の樹幹注入作業など、被害の拡大を防ぐ対策を行いました。
From last year to this year, the number of trees damaged by pine wilt disease has increased in the compartment 74.
Early in the new year, with the help of researchers specializing in pests and diseases and technical staff of the University of Tokyo Forests, we took measures to prevent the spread of damage, such as injecting tree trunks of pine wilt preventives.

被害の拡大を防ぐとともに、今後も被害調査を続けていきます。
While preventing the damage from spreading, we will continue to investigate the damage.
