Symposium Concept At the COP15 to the Convention on Biological Diversity held in December 2022, the "Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework" was adopted as a global target for 2030. Its core mission is to halt and reverse biodiversity loss—a concept known as "Nature Positive (NP)." In response, the Japanese government has designated the "Realization of a Nature-Positive Economy" as a key pillar (Basic Strategy 3) of its national strategy. However, progress toward Nature Positive in Asia has been slower compared to Europe and North America. To address this challenge, eight universities in Asia with research forests signed the "Asia Biodiversity Credit Alliance (ABCA)" in July 2025, committing the academic sector to this mission. This symposium will provide a platform for stakeholders from various sectors in Japan and Asia to exchange information and accelerate the transition toward a Nature-Positive economy.
