About the International Workshop
We are pleased to inform you that Faculty of Science and Natural Resources, Universiti Malaysia Sabah will host the International Workshop on Long-term Monitoring and Data Analysis of Forest Resources and Environment, which will be held at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia on 6-10 March, 2017. The International Workshop includes one-day workshop and one-day general excursion to Crocker Range Park, followed by group excursions to the related forests in Sabah.

RG3: Tawau (3 days 2 nights)

Research Groups
On the 6th of March in the afternoon, the following three research group (RG) sessions will be held in parallel. The topics of the three research groups are as follows:

RG 1: Water & Climate
Water cycling and climate changes in Asian forests
Long-term hydrological and meteorological data
Ecosystem services associated with physical and chemical processes

RG 2: Ecosystem
Ecosystems and biodiversity in Asian forests
Long-term biological and ecological data (flora & fauna, LTER, etc.)
Ecosystem services associated with biological and ecological processes

RG 3: Management
Anthropogenic interventions in Asian forests
Long-term geospatial and management data
Ecosystem services associated with social, economic and cultural values

Workshop Registration Fee (6 March)*
Regular fee: RM 300 / person
Student fee: RM 100 / person
*Including workshop program, coffee/tea breaks, lunch, and dinner.


Call for Abstracts
If you are presenting in the plenary session, RG sessions, and poster session, please send an abstract before 10 February 2017.
Each abstract must not exceed 150 words. Include the Title of Paper, Name, Affiliation, Country, Email Address, and Text (the abstract template attached with this circular).
Please submit the abstract file to the workshop secretariat ().

Presentation Slides Submission
For all the oral presenters, please send the PowerPoint presentation file (.ppt) to the secretariat () before 28 February 2017. Your PowerPoint presentations submitted to us will be printed out and shared in the workshop.


Poster Presentation Guidelines
For all the poster presenters, please prepare the poster in A1 size to be placed vertically.
Only student posters are qualified for the best poster award.
