About the Symposium
We are pleased to inform you that the University of Tokyo Forests will host the Interim Symposium: Achievements and Prospects for the Network of Long-term Research Field Stations in Asian Forests, which will be held at the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan on 3-5 March, 2018. The Symposium is organized under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Core-to-Core Program (B. Asia-Africa Science Platforms) “Developing a network of long-term research field stations to monitor environmental changes and ecosystem responses in Asian forests”. It includes two-day symposium and business meeting, followed by a field trip to Ecohydrology Research Institute or the University of Tokyo Chiba Forest.

Symposium
On the 3rd of March, invited speakers from core universities (SNU, NTU, KU, UMS) are kindly requested to present the following topics: 1) Brief introduction
of research organization, facilities (incl. university forest) and activities
in your university, 2) Achievements (FY 2016-17) and prospects (FY 2018)
under the current JSPS C2C Program in your university, 3) Potential opportunities
for collaboration and possible contributions to the Network.
Invited speakers from core-candidate universities (UGM, NUS, USJP) are kindly requested to present the following topics: 1) Brief introduction
of research organization, facilities (incl. university forest), and activities
in your university, 2) Present situation and future plan on long-term monitoring
in your university forest, 3) Long-term researches that have been carried
out by (faculty and/or university forest) staffs and/or students, 4) Potential
opportunities for collaboration and possible contributions to the Network.
Business Meeting
On the 4th of March in the morning, we will discuss the following topics:
· Strategy for the 2nd phase of JSPS C2C Program
· Schedule for publications
· MOU as a group among member universities (not bilateral MOU)
Call for Abstracts
Please send an abstract of your presentation before February 20, 2018.
· Each abstract must not exceed 150 words. Include the Title of
Presentation, Name, Affiliation, Country, Email Address, and Text (the
abstract template attached with this circular).
· Please submit the abstract file to the symposium secretariat ().

For all the oral presenters, please send the PowerPoint presentation file (.ppt) to the secretariat () before February 28, 2018. Your PowerPoint presentations submitted to us will be printed out and shared in the symposium.
